Allergy and Free From Show, London

On Saturday 5th July, me and my parents went to the allergy show in Olympia, London.

It was the first time I had been and I have to say it was great! So many companies I had not heard of and so many different foods to try!

I didn't manage to take any photos while I was there, it was just far too busy, but the well known gluten free companies were there along with quite a lot of smaller ones.

Udi, DS, Lovemore, Feel Good, Natures Path, Amy's Kitchen, Orgran; just to name a few!

I spent a good 2 hours battling the crowds and picked up a few free samples and lots of leaflets to read at home!

I would highly recommend the show!

Afterwards, me and my parents battled the London traffic and went to Wandsworth in southwest London. This is where my mother was born and grew up and where I lived for a few years when I was a child.

We found an absolutely amazing Italian resturant called Rossopomodoro. My goodness their gluten free margarita was the best pizza I have ever eaten!!

If you are ever in London, you must find Rossopomodoro. They have Resturants across London.

My amazing pizza!

A 90th birthday continued!

Finally finished the initialed handkerchiefs I was making for my grandads birthday next week. Finished in 3 shades of his favourite colour, blue 😊

In the end I gave up with the box I had made and bought one. I had looked everywhere before I made my box so am glad I finally found the one below 😊

A 90th birthday!

So my lovely grandad will be 90 next week.

I have been making him a present, 3 initialed hankichiefs and a poor attempt at a box to put them in. My first attempt at a box so I'm sure he will forgive me 😊

Also made him a birthday card using docrafts Wellington collection. I just love the Wellington collection.

The record player was a perfect choice as me and my grandad used to often sit and listen to his records when I was about 3-5 years old. I would often ask him to get them out and he would play one for me 😄 ❤️

Seagull

So tonight I thought I would give making a clay seagull a try.

Using white and black fimo polymer clay for the body and orange for the feet.

I did however have some problems keeping the body white whilst using the black clay.

**If anyone has any suggestions for how to keep one colour from going dirty with another's dye, I would welcome comments on this post! Or any other general suggestions for a newbie using fimo polymer clay!**

So the seagull is a dirty scavenger seagull! I hope he stands once I have baked him. Then he will be up for sale, at a reduced price because he is a first learning piece.

From the dirty scraps of clay from the seagull, I mixed them together and made a marbled bead!

One of my most favourite makes so far!

This is one of most favourite makes I have done so far.

The inspiration was from other crafter, where they had knitted an underwater creature.

This is created with thin layers of wool roving in 3 shades of blue to create the sea. Thin layer of green to create the sea weed and orange for the fish.

I then stuck it to a c6 card, which means it can be framed or used as a greeting card.

Check out my etsy shop, where you will find this and other items I have created for sale.

Success!

My 4 fimo creations have been baked and cooled and have hardened! Yay! Success!

My butterfly is strong enough to be made into a broach also! Woo!

New fimo!

Today I went to a local craft shop and bought some new fimo! Gold, silver and purple glitter!

I couldn't wait to get playing so I made this butterfly, which I am hoping I can make into a broach.

As I am new to fimo I don't know if it will be too brittle once baked, so watch this space!

Discovery!

A couple of days ago I found some fimo clay I had forgotten about. So I started to have a play and created a ladybird and heart bead and a little penguin!

Needle felt gnome broach in progress

I am in the process of making a little gnome which will be made into a broach once complete, then put up for sale.
